System Experience

Setting up my new Sony X900H was surprisingly straightforward. I appreciated the thoughtful design of the packaging, which allowed me to easily attach the legs without any screws. It felt solid once assembled, although the legs seemed a bit thin for such a large screen. I mounted the TV on a sturdy stand, and although it was a bit wobbly at first, it quickly settled into place. The remote is lightweight and somewhat flimsy, but I’m getting used to it. The initial setup process was smooth, especially when I connected my phone to transfer settings easily. Android TV is intuitive and responsive, which I love.

Viewing Experience

The picture quality of the X900H is absolutely stunning. After years of using a smaller, older model, the leap to 65 inches was a game-changer. The colors are vibrant, and the black levels are impressive, especially when watching HDR content. I was blown away by the detail in the movies I’ve watched so far. The upscaling of lower-resolution content is also quite good. I appreciate the various picture modes, especially the cinema mode, which really enhances the viewing experience. However, I did notice some slight darkening in the corners, which can be distracting if I’m looking for it, but it’s not enough to ruin my enjoyment.

Audio Experience

While I do have a sound system I plan to set up eventually, I was pleasantly surprised by the built-in speakers. They provide clear audio with decent bass, which is impressive for a TV of this size. I’ve enjoyed watching movies without feeling the immediate need to hook up my surround sound system just yet. The sound quality is well above average compared to other TVs I’ve owned, making it a great option for casual viewing.

Other Experience

Using the TV's interface has been a pleasant experience. The Android TV setup is seamless, and I love that it integrates well with my Google ecosystem. I can easily access my favorite streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+, and the app performance is quick and responsive. However, I have encountered some minor hiccups, like occasional sound dropouts that require a quick reset, but nothing too problematic. I am still exploring the various settings to find the perfect balance for my viewing preferences.

Conclusion

Pros:
- Amazing picture quality with vibrant colors and good black levels.
- User-friendly Android TV interface.
- Decent built-in sound quality that doesn’t require immediate external speakers.
- Easy setup process with thoughtful design elements.

Cons:
- Slight darkening in the corners can be distracting.
- Flimsy remote control that feels cheap.
- Occasional sound dropouts that require a reset.

Overall Evaluation:
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my choice of the Sony X900H. It has transformed my viewing experience, making movies and shows more immersive than ever. While there are a few minor issues to consider, they do not overshadow the overall quality of the TV. I feel confident that this investment will serve me well for years to come, especially with the promise of future updates for gaming features. If you're looking for a solid mid-range TV with excellent picture quality, I wholeheartedly recommend the X900H.

So, my old Bravia was a solid 16 years old and still kicking, but I figured it was time for an upgrade. I snagged a new one back in 2020, but the first one I got didn’t even turn on—total dud. I sent it back, and they sent me a replacement in just a few days. Fast forward almost 5 years, and this new TV is still going strong without a hitch!
