First Impressions
The Samsung UN55TU7000FXZA has a surprisingly modern and clean design for a budget model. The bezels are extremely thin on all four sides and arent distracting. On the other hand, the stand is very basic and doesnt prevent the TV from wobbling. The back of the Samsung UN55TU7000 is plastic and has the same etched horizontal texture as other recent Samsung TVs, like theSamsung TU8000. The inputs are side-facing and set into the back of the TV, so they're tough to access when the TV is mounted on the wall. Tracks are on the back of the TV forcable management, and clips are on the feet to hold them in place.
The Samsung TU7000 2020 has decent build quality overall. It's mostly made of plastic, with few premium materials, and it has no significant or noticeable issues.

System Experience | The Samsung TU7000FXZA presents a solid entry-level television option, showcasing a user-friendly interface powered by Tizen OS. Despite its slower processor, the reduction in animations contributes to a smoother overall performance. The well-organized layout makes navigation straightforward, although the presence of unavoidable ads on the home screen and app store may be a drawback for some users. The availability of popular streaming services enhances its appeal, with most apps running smoothly, making it a practical choice for those seeking essential features in a TV. |

Viewing Experience | The Samsung TU7000 Crystal UHD offers decent contrast and fairly deep blacks in dark environments, although it lacks a local dimming feature, which leads to some raised blacks during dark scenes. Its color gamut is adequate for most HDR content, but it does not cover the wider Rec. 2020 color space well. The TV exhibits just okay gray uniformity, with noticeable variations in brightness across the screen. While it performs well in near-black scenes, it has a narrow viewing angle, causing images to lose accuracy when viewed off-center. Reflection handling is average, and the TV performs best in moderate to dark lighting conditions. Additionally, the BGR subpixel layout may affect text clarity when used as a PC monitor. Overall, the Samsung TU7000 Crystal UHD is a solid choice for dark room viewing but has limitations in color performance, viewing angles, and certain uses. |
Audio

Audio Experience | The TV offers a balanced audio performance with decent frequency response, making it suitable for small and quiet environments. While the sound quality is relatively clean at moderate levels, it exhibits some distortion at maximum volume, particularly in the lower frequencies. The lack of bass and limited loudness may not meet the needs of larger spaces or louder settings, but it performs adequately for casual viewing in a more controlled environment. Overall, it is a solid choice for those prioritizing a moderate listening experience. |

Motion Smoothing | Overall Impression: The TV struggles with low-quality content smoothing, resulting in noticeable macro-blocking and limited motion handling due to its slow response time. Fast-paced action and gaming may suffer from blurring and black smearing in dark scenes, while backlight flicker can cause motion duplications, potentially affecting viewers sensitive to flickering. Although it can interpolate lower frame rate content up to 60fps, the flicker may detract from performance, with minor artifacts still present. While it offers preserved detail, its motion processing and performance in high-action scenarios leave much to be desired. |

Connecting TV | Overall Impression: This TV excels in providing low input lag, particularly in Game Mode, making it a solid choice for gamers seeking responsive performance. However, its lack of advanced gaming features limits its compatibility with the latest gaming consoles like the PS5. The inclusion of eARC support is a commendable feature for an entry-level TV, allowing for high-quality audio transmission, although it has some limitations regarding audio format support. Overall, while it offers essential gaming functionality and decent audio capabilities, it may not fully satisfy those looking for advanced features and compatibility with high-end gaming systems. |
