1.Install the "Send Files to TV" on both your Phone and TV.

2. Download the APK file you need on your phone.

3. Open "Send File to TV" on the Phone and choose Send. Select the apk file you just downloaded to be transferred. "Send File to TV" will automatically search available OnePlus TV and start transfer.

4.open File Manager and browse to "Download" ( the default storage path ).

5. Click on the App icon-Install option-provide permission to install unknown apps-install.

Recently another issue popped up where the Hotstar App is not opening at all even after updating to the latest version. This seems to be like an issue with the Play Store that's not showing the latest version of the Apps.

What's the Solution?
Now for Hotstar not opening issue, there's a temporary fix. You can try this,if you can't wait for the team to resolve.

1. Download Hotstar Apk for Android TV version 3.3.0 from Google onto your phone.

2. Install App named "Send Files to TV" on both your phone and TV.

3. Now send the downloaded Hotstar APK file from Phone to TV.

4. Open File Manager< Downloads Folder< Hostar APK.

5. It will ask for permission to update the App. Select OK.

6. Done.

NOTE: Now to avoid facing the re-update issue again for all those apps, keep the TV in sleep mode rather than turning it OFF. That way the apps don't roll back to previous version.
