At the recently concluded CES 2025 (January 7-10, 2025), LG Electronics unveiled its latest advancements in projection technology, showcasing a PF600U smart projector that combines ambient lighting, Bluetooth speaker capabilities, and high-definition projection into a single device, as well as the company's smallest ultra-short-throw 4K projector to date, the CineBeam S.
The LG PF600U stands out with its innovative design and multifunctionality, merging three essential devices into one, offering users an unparalleled all-in-one home theater experience. From a distance, it resembles a floor lamp, but in reality, it features an integrated RGBB LED ambient light with nine color options, allowing users to personalize the ambiance to match their living space.
Additionally, the PF600U is equipped with a Bluetooth speaker featuring dual drivers and a passive radiator, not only delivering soothing music but also providing background audio for the 1080p HD visuals projected by the device. The projection module supports a 1.2:1 throw ratio, enabling flexible screen sizes ranging from 30 to 120 inches diagonally, catering to diverse viewing preferences.
With a brightness of 300 ANSI lumens and a dynamic contrast ratio of 150,000:1, the PF600U ensures crisp and detailed imagery. Running on LG's webOS entertainment platform, it supports external media sources via HDMI and USB-C ports, while its automatic image adjustment feature simplifies setup. The head tilts up to 110 degrees, offering adaptability to various installation environments.
Simultaneously, LG introduced the successor to the CineBeam Q—the CineBeam S, an ultra-short-throw 4K projector measuring just 110 x 160 x 160 mm (4.3 x 6.3 x 6.3 inches), making it the smallest model in LG's lineup. Powered by a laser light source, it achieves a brightness of 500 ANSI lumens and an impressive dynamic contrast ratio of 450,000:1, delivering superior visual performance. Like its counterpart, the CineBeam S operates on the webOS platform, supporting popular streaming services. Despite its compact size, it can project a 100-inch diagonal screen from just a few inches away, covering 154% of the DCI-P3 color space for richer, more vibrant colors.
Furthermore, the CineBeam S boasts automatic screen adjustment, zoom, and shift functions, adapting the image to different wall colors to ensure optimal picture quality regardless of the environment. Its built-in stereo system supports Dolby Atmos immersive audio, elevating the cinematic experience.
Both models made their debut at CES 2025, though LG has yet to disclose specific pricing or availability details.
From a user experience perspective, these devices redefine convenience and versatility. The PF600U transforms any room into a personalized entertainment hub, blending aesthetics with functionality. Its ambient lighting feature not only enhances the viewing environment but also serves as a mood-setting tool, making it ideal for both casual movie nights and immersive gaming sessions. On the other hand, the CineBeam S is a game-changer for space-conscious users, offering a cinematic experience without the need for a dedicated home theater setup. Its compact design and advanced features make it perfect for modern living spaces, where flexibility and quality are paramount. Together, these innovations reflect LG's commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology that seamlessly integrates into users' lifestyles, enhancing both entertainment and everyday living.
