Highlight
[ULTRA SHORT THROW] The M8 UST features a premium ultra-short throw (0.2TR) lens-set. This means when the M8 UST is placed just 12 inches from the wall it can produce a 100-inch image (the projector body adds some throw distance).
[RGB LASER TECHNOLOGY] The M8 UST features new Miniature RGB Laser technology delivering an ultra-bright 1100 Laser (LD) Lumen image with exceptionally vibrant colors and capable of supporting 4K Resolution (Native 1080P).
[RGB LASER & DLP] The DLP RGB Laser light-source with proprietary de-speckle technology produces a brilliant color gamut that cannot be achieved by LED Projectors, especially white LED Projectors. Vivid colors and higher perceived brightness produce a visually stunning picture not found in LED Projectors.
[COMPACT, VERSATILE] The M8 UST is just 8.1” x 4.8” x 3” and 2.78lbs. This miniature size enables the M8 to be mounted in a variety of different locations both traditional projectors and LCD displays cannot. From inverted wall and ceiling mounting to reverse projection mounting, to being placed on a dresser or shelf the M8 can do it all. Furthermore, the M8 is designed to rotate vertically and project directly on the table top or ground.
[CINEMA GRADE QUALITY] The M8 UST is powered by Texas Instruments DLP technology with an RGB Laser Light-source. Texas Instruments DLP technology is true movie cinema technology and is found in the majority of movie theaters globally. The DLP imager delivers high contrast, high optical efficiency, and most importantly high endurance – standing up to the rigors for laser illumination for tens of thousands of hours.

System Experience

I was on the hunt for a projector that wouldn’t break the bank, and I stumbled upon the AAXA UST Projector. After considering pricier options like the Epson short throw projectors, which can run up to $3000, I felt a wave of relief when I found this gem that fits perfectly on my desk without taking up too much space. Setting it up was a breeze; I appreciated how user-friendly the design was. Connecting it to my surround system was seamless thanks to the CEC functionality, and having multiple HDMI ports and USB-C for video made it flexible for all my devices.

Viewing Experience

I was genuinely blown away by the picture quality! Achieving a massive 100-inch screen from such a compact projector is nothing short of impressive. The clarity of the 1080p image really stood out, and I found myself enjoying movies and shows in various lighting conditions without any major issues. The colors were vibrant, and I could tell the team at AAXA took care to ensure a great viewing experience. I did notice that while it accepts 4K content, it’s not native 4K, but honestly, I didn't mind at all given the quality of the 1080p output.

Other Experience

Using this projector has transformed my movie nights, whether I’m at home or on the road for business trips. It has quickly become an indispensable part of my setup. I also appreciated the built-in apps that offered convenient options right out of the box. The only hiccup I've encountered is with the surface I project onto – I learned that I need a completely flat wall to get the best results. Any texture or waves tend to interfere with the image, which can be a bit frustrating, but it’s manageable.

Conclusion

Pros:
The standout features for me are definitely the impressive size of the image it projects and the solid picture quality. It’s compact, portable, and surprisingly powerful for its size. I also love that it integrates easily with my existing surround sound system, enhancing the overall viewing experience. Plus, having the ability to scale the image down for smaller spaces is super convenient.

Cons:
That said, I do have a few gripes. The built-in speaker is rather small, and while it can connect to external sound systems, I would have preferred a bit more oomph directly from the projector itself. Additionally, the fan can get a bit noisy, which might be distracting during quieter movie scenes. Lastly, if you’re planning to project on a textured surface, be prepared for some image distortion.

Overall Evaluation:
In conclusion, I couldn't be happier with the AAXA UST Projector. It’s the ideal solution for someone who wants a powerful projector without spending a fortune. I appreciate how it has elevated my viewing experience, making it perfect for both casual movie nights and more serious presentations. I highly recommend this projector to anyone looking for an affordable yet high-quality option in the ultra-short throw category!

I've got four AAXA projectors, and I've been using them for the last six years—still going strong! So, I'm pretty sure this new laser one with the ultra short throw will be just as solid and dependable.
