This page presents a quest for the extension "The Ode to Prodigies" from Zelda: Breath of the Wild . In this fight, you will have to face the memories of Link, and in this case the Shadow of Ganon associated with the prodigy in question: the Shadow of Lightning, already faced at the end of the exploration of Vah'Naboris . The difference, in addition to a visual filter adding some noise, lies in the equipment available imposed: you are only entitled to a specific outfit and very limited equipment to defeat this boss (but you do have all your hearts and the four powers of the Prodigies). You can also leave the fight at any time to return to the basic map of the game (display the map then press X to exit), if you feel bad…

Note that it is highly recommended to start the fight with the four active powers, because overall, you will be very useful.

 Lightning Shadow of Ganon

Lightning Shadow of Ganon

Of the four confrontations linked to Link's memories in this DLC, Ganon's Shadow of Lightning is undoubtedly the most complex to defeat. And for good reason, you have no ranged attack: unlike the other three bosses, no bow is included in the imposed equipment. Link will be able to use two swords (the scimitar of the seven jewels and the long sword of virtue) as well as two shields (that of the aegis, and that of the seven jewels).

This Shadow of Ganon is the fastest of the four. It is recommended, on the first sentence, to keep your guard with the shield and wait until it approaches you to fight it in melee with the scimitar (the less powerful of the two swords, to keep the second for the second stage) to drop his shield and neutralize it. You can also use Daruk's shield to ward off his attacks and take advantage of his slight stun to freeze him with the power of Cinetis. Regardless of the method: as soon as it is temporarily knocked out, use your weapon to strike it and decrease its life gauge. It then suffices to repeat the operation until its lifespan is reduced by half, and to access its second phase, more complex.

Ganon's Shadow then spawns metallic pillars in order to explode them with lightning (and inflict serious damage on you. Thanks to the power of Polaris, you can catch these pillars and float them in the air, the as close as possible to the boss, to electrocute him and lower his life bar! Otherwise, you can make use of Urbosa's Wrath, triggering yourself lightning around you to injure him. Once the enemy is electrocuted and on the ground, you can therefore strike it, with the sword of virtue preferably, to cause more damage.

Finally, as for the other Shadows of Ganon, its red ray of light (sent towards the end of the fight) can be returned to it with the shield of Daruk (if you still have it, since it will have been used during the first part of confrontation). This will stun him and you can freeze it with Cinetis to empty his remaining life.

After the end of this fight, you find Asarim, the accordion player Piaf, who wants you to listen to the song he composed in honor of Urbosa, the prodigy gerudo. Kinematics is launched then, constituting a new additional memory of Link.

Once this kinematics is finished, you will be rewarded with a special power, which is nothing but an improvement of the Anger of Urbosa, which it had offered you by coming to the end of Vah'Naboris and triumphing over Ganon's Lightning Shadow.
