Xiaomi officially announced today that the new Xiaomi TV S series would be formally launched on Wednesday, March 22, which allows for a high refresh rate of 144Hz without giving up clarity.
It is understood that the Xiaomi TV S series will be equipped with MediaTek MT9653 chip, a 4K powerful movement released at the end of 2022. Compared with the previous generation MT9652, MT9653 is still quad-core A73 but boosts the maximum frequency.
MT9653 has more obvious upgrades in intelligent picture algorithm, running memory data structure, and functional interface, and is equipped with 1 TAI arithmetic NPU to support more games or video formats.
In addition, the MT9653 provides 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, one of which supports 4K/144Hz, and the VRR variable refresh rate range is increased to 144Hz to reduce screen flicker caused by fluctuations in game frame rates. It also supports the USB3.0 interface, which increases the local transfer rate by 10 times compared to USB2.0, allowing smooth playback of local high bitrate 4K movies.
