Recently, media reported that apple AppleTV + has made the largest film acquisition since its establishment, and spent $70 million to win the copyright of Sony film Greyhound, which will premiere on Apple TV +.

Greyhound is a World War II war movie starring and written by Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks, with a production cost of about $50 million. Greyhound originally chose to premiere at the cinema on father's day. However, affected by the epidemic, the release plan was cancelled. After consideration, Tom Hanks agreed to put the work into the streaming media platform for the first time.

Will the Greyhound be a phenomenal work that will boost Apple TV +?

Apple TV + is Apple's streaming video subscription service, which was launched on March 26, 2019. Most of its programs need to be paid. However, since its launch, Apple TV + has been underperforming, and its revenue can hardly cover the expenditure of one billion dollars. Even apple card and game subscription platform Apple Arcade do not seem to form a certain scale of market.

With video production stalled, a batch of programs are being sold to major streaming media platforms. Apple is also trying to expand its film library with insufficient new content of AppleTV + by taking advantage of the epidemic. According to insiders, apple is currently focusing on programs with exclusive rights of some popular platforms that are about to expire.

So will the Greyhound be a phenomenal work that will boost Apple TV +? What do you think of it? Welcome to comment.
