Not long ago, Sony announced a new PS+ program for the third tier, which will add 240 additional games, including cloud streaming PS3 games, plus streaming/downloading some PS, PS2 and PSP games.
You may have noticed the problem: PS5 is still not backward compatible with PS3 games, only "cloud games".
First, the PS4 is not compatible with PS3 games, probably because its Jaguar CPU is not powerful enough to emulate them correctly.
The PS3's CELL processor contains a common power PC core (PPE) with a 3.2 GHz dual-core CPU, plus eight additional co-processors (SPEs), and a special GPU based on the NVIDIA 7800. collectively, the underlying architecture of the PS3 is so unique and complex that it is quite difficult to simulate it.
For the players, this is certainly a big loss. Because the PS3 has too many classic games on it.
