As a core hardware for gaming, controllers is a component of a common electronic game machine, which controls the virtual characters of the game by manipulating its buttons. A quality controller might cost over $70 such as Playstation and Xbox controllers. Why are the PS5 and Xbox controllers so expensive? Why should we pay for an extra outcome for a controller? What the differences between a third-party controller and an official controller?
Why PS5 and Xbox controllers are so expensive? -Manufacturing
In fact, you can get a cheap controller such as no frills logitech controller for only $20 bucks, but you cannot blame it for its lack of DC charger, gyroscopes, Bluetooths or touch pads. A cheaper controller is often accompanied with poor gaming experience: keys are soft like a chewed gum for two hours, the rocker cap fall off at any time, the mud coupled with the two pieces of inferior rubber anti-skid pads, every time you use up the controller, you have to wipe off the black stuff sticking to it and then wash your hands.
And if you buy an XBOX ONE S controller, the anti-skid and sensitivity of the rocker are suitable for the majority. The shell is not easy to stick and sweat and is non-slip. The rocker buttons are neither too soft nor too hard, and they will not be touched by mistake. It will press the non-moving section, the shoulder key feels thick, and it will not make loud noise, nor will it sway back and forth, and the multi-stage trigger button has good elasticity
In a word, it is not the controllers are expensive, but the good ones.

A controller looks like no big deal, but there is a deep gap between “usable” and “used well”. Many cheap controllers are not aggressive on the “usable” side. Sony and Microsoft, who smashed in billions of dollars, finally reached the level of "good use".
So why is the controller expensive? That's money for our "feeling"
As for DualSense (PlayStation series controller), it is the pioneer of the modern dual-joystick layout, and DS is constantly evolving, including the DS4's large touchpad, microphone, headphone jack, new DS multi-stage trigger, etc., This is all Sony is building a bridge to the "used well" .
In fact, now the price of the controllers is not expensive, it really is not.Do u know how much money Microsoft spent on developing Xbox ones controllers? One hundred million dollars! If there is no doubt that tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of sales will be the bottom, how could there be such a high R&D expenditure to make this small input device?Really, not expensive!
