First Impressions

From the moment I unboxed the projector, I was struck by its compact design. It has a premium feel that sets it apart from many other budget models on the market, often made by lesser-known Chinese brands. The build quality is solid, which I appreciate, given that it’s intended for both indoor and outdoor use. However, the aesthetic appeal does little to make up for the shortcomings in performance.

Viewing Experience
Unfortunately, the viewing experience was severely disappointing. The picture quality is, quite frankly, unacceptable for a projector priced at $340. I would describe it as practically 480p, which is far from what I expected. For a device in this price range, I was hoping for at least 720p resolution, but it fell short in brightness and clarity. Even for casual digital decorations, the quality didn’t meet my expectations, making it hard to recommend.

System Experience
Setting up the projector was relatively straightforward. I found it easy to connect it to streaming devices like Roku and AppleTV, which was a pleasant surprise. The convenience of being able to transition it from indoors to outdoors is a definite plus, thanks to its long battery life. However, the initial excitement of setup quickly faded when I began to assess the performance.

User Feedback

Pros:
• Easy setup with Roku and AppleTV
• Long battery life for portability
• Premium feel and solid build quality

Cons:
• Unacceptable picture quality for the price
• Resolution close to 480p instead of 720p
• Overpriced at $340; should be around $150

Overall Impression:
In summary, I would not recommend this projector. While it has a few redeeming qualities, such as its portability and ease of connection, the trade-offs in picture quality and brightness are simply too significant. For $300, I believe there are far superior options available, such as the GV31 or even refurbished models like the GV30 that offer much better performance. This product feels like a missed opportunity, and I hope the manufacturer reevaluates its pricing and technology moving forward.

If you ditch the speakers, this thing's only worth 30 bucks. The picture quality is just terrible for a $340 projector. Seriously, 0/10, don't waste your money. You can get a way better projector for $300. View Sonic should be embarrassed about this one!

This projector ain't even 720p and it's tough to justify its price. It should be priced for 720p and up since it's more like 480p. Sure, it's convenient and the sound's decent, but for $499, the GV31 gives you 1080p with over 2 million pixels! Even the refurbished GV30 has 921,600 pixels and is only $249.
