System Experience

Parameter
ViewSonic LS830 Projector
VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector
System ExperienceSetting up the ViewSonic LS830 projector was quite an experience for me. I was excited to try out the ultra short throw feature, but I found myself a bit thrown off initially. I placed the projector on the floor, just a couple of feet away from the wall, expecting to achieve a seamless image right from the ground up. Instead, I quickly realized that the projection starts about 2-3 feet above the floor, which wasn’t what I had envisioned. It felt like a minor setback, but I adapted and managed to work with it.Setting up the VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector was surprisingly straightforward. I appreciated how easy it was to get everything going right out of the box. I was able to connect my Fire Stick seamlessly, which made streaming my favorite shows a breeze. However, I did find the lack of a stand for the included screen a bit disappointing, as I had to figure out a way to hang it properly. It would have been nice if that was included to make the setup even simpler.

Viewing Experience

Parameter
ViewSonic LS830 Projector
VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector
Viewing ExperienceWhen it comes to picture quality, I must say I was genuinely impressed. The sharpness of the image, combined with the true 1080p resolution, really caught my attention. It brought my visuals to life in a way that made my projects shine. However, I did notice that the brightness, rated at 4500 lumens, fell a little short of what I would consider "production quality." Still, it was bright enough for most of my needs, and overall, I felt satisfied with how clear and vibrant the images appeared.I have to say, the picture quality really exceeded my expectations for a projector in this price range. During the day, it struggled a bit, but once it got dark, the image was crisp and clear. I set the projector to the "vivid" picture setting, and it looked fantastic. Watching movies and playing games with the kids was a real treat, and it felt like having my own personal theater in the backyard. Of course, I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to a high-end projector, but for casual use, it definitely gets the job done.

Other Experience

Parameter
ViewSonic LS830 Projector
VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector
Other ExperienceUnfortunately, my experience with the projector wasn’t entirely smooth. I encountered some issues with the user guide, which seemed to be lacking critical sections, particularly regarding LAN control. This was frustrating, as I had plans for using the projector in a rear projection setup. The fact that the IR control receiver faced the wall and was inaccessible made it a hassle to operate. To make matters worse, I learned that I would have to send the projector back to ViewSonic for a firmware update, which felt like an inconvenience I shouldn’t have to deal with.My overall experience with this projector has been a mix of enjoyment and mild frustration. While I was thrilled with how well it performed at night, I did encounter some connectivity hiccups when trying to mirror my phone. It seems like it only works well with basic apps like YouTube; for streaming services like Netflix or Disney+, I had to resort to using my laptop and an HDMI cable. The sound could also be improved; it felt a bit hollow, so I ended up using an external speaker for a better audio experience.

Our Verdict

ViewSonic LS830 Projector:

Pros:
There are definitely some pros to this projector. The picture quality is a standout feature, and I really appreciated its vibrant colors and sharpness. Additionally, the ultra short throw capability is a unique selling point, allowing for large images in compact spaces. When it works, it truly enhances the viewing experience, especially for presentations or design projects. I also found it refreshing that I received a used unit with zero hours on the laser light source, which gave me confidence in my purchase.

Cons:
On the downside, the missing documentation and the challenges with LAN control are significant drawbacks. I felt frustrated having to jump through hoops to get the projector functioning as intended. The occasional failure to stay powered on after a few uses was another alarming aspect that raised concerns about its reliability. Hearing about others’ experiences with similar issues only added to my worries about the long-term performance of this model.

Overall Evaluation:
Overall, my journey with the ViewSonic LS830 projector has been a mixed bag. While I am genuinely impressed with the picture quality and the potential it has for various uses, the setup complications and reliability issues have left me feeling hesitant. I want to love this projector, but I can’t ignore the challenges I’ve faced. If these issues could be addressed, I believe it could truly be a top contender in the market. For now, I would recommend it with caution, especially to those who value a hassle-free user experience.

VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector:

Pros:
There are several things I really like about this projector. Firstly, it’s an excellent value for the price, especially when you consider the picture quality and ease of use. It’s relatively lightweight and portable, which is great for outdoor movie nights. I also appreciate how easy it was to connect to my devices, and the included screen, although not perfect, was a pleasant surprise in terms of quality.

Cons:
On the downside, the sound quality left much to be desired, and I found myself needing additional speakers to truly enjoy the experience. The projector also tends to get warm after a while, so keeping it cool is important if you plan to use it for extended periods. Additionally, the connectivity options weren't as versatile as I had hoped, particularly when it came to streaming from various apps without the hassle of using a wired connection.

Overall Evaluation:
In conclusion, I would say that the VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector has been a great investment for my entertainment needs. While it has its flaws, such as less-than-stellar sound quality and some connectivity issues, the picture quality at night and the ease of setup more than make up for it. For anyone looking for an affordable way to enjoy movies outdoors or create a mini home theater, I would definitely recommend giving this projector a try, just be prepared to invest in some additional audio equipment!

So, I got my hands on the VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector, and honestly, it's been a bit of a letdown. The HDMI ports? Total junk. They only work when they feel like it, which is super frustrating.

And let’s talk about picture quality—it’s just plain awful. I tried to watch a movie, and it came out looking like a dark red blob. No matter how much I messed with the color settings, it just wouldn’t look anything like what was on my laptop screen.

If you're thinking about using this for a kid's room or a conference room, maybe it'll be okay. But for me, it totally ruined two outdoor movie nights. Major bummer!

So, I got my hands on the VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector, and let me tell you, it was not what I expected. Even in a dark room, it struggled big time. Focusing the lens was a bit of a heart-stopping experience—like I was gonna drop the whole thing! The WiFi? Yeah, that was a no-go. And don’t get me started on the brightness; it was pretty pathetic. Oh, and that 120" screen? More like wishful thinking because the actual image was way smaller than that.

Seriously, I have no idea who’s writing those rave reviews. They must have gotten a different projector!

BUT here’s the twist: I gotta give a shoutout to their customer service. They really stepped up and offered to replace the projector and help me with all the WiFi and other issues I had. I wish every seller cared this much about their customers!

So, I tried out the VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector, and honestly, it did the job for our backyard movie nights. It’s pretty basic, and while it was mostly fine, I did notice the bottom of the image wasn’t super sharp, which was a bit of a letdown. If I were planning to use it for something important, like a work presentation, I’d probably shell out a bit more cash for a better one. Oh, and the on-screen menu? Total pain sometimes! I think it was more about me fumbling around than anything wrong with the projector itself, but still, it could be frustrating. Overall, it’s cool for laid-back use, just don’t expect perfection!

So, I just got my hands on the VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector, and I’ve gotta say, it fired right up without any fuss—super easy to set up! But here’s the thing: when I took it outside, I really felt like it just didn’t have the brightness I was hoping for. It claims to be 9000 Lumens, but honestly, it’s nowhere near that. I know the difference between ANSI lumens and regular lumens, so I'm not just throwing shade for no reason. For the price, it’s definitely a solid option, and it might work for some folks out there, but it just didn’t cut it for me in the outdoor vibe.

Hey folks! So, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the VISOUD 9500L Outdoor Projector. Quick update from my old review: the build quality? Yeah, it's just okay. But if you put in a little effort, this bad boy can really surprise you!

First off, toss that screen it comes with. Seriously, I whipped up a light gray, matte paint and painted a 130” screen right on my wall. I even used some black painter’s tape to get a nice border going. It looks awesome!

Next tip: get a hanger or stand that puts the projector as close to the center of the screen as possible. If it’s too low or high, you’ll end up with a blurry top or bottom.

Now, about the picture quality at 120” – it’s watchable, but the sharpness is really just in the middle of the screen. I tried to rig it up to an overhead hanger, but the brass thread snapped. Oops! But hey, we didn’t want to break the bank on this since we got it for outdoor movie nights. It gets the job done, but if you’re looking for something to use all the time, you might wanna splurge a bit more.

Oh, and I was actually surprised by the included screen! I thought it’d be some cheap material that I’d have to iron out all the wrinkles. Turns out, it’s cloth and pretty decent quality. So, all in all, it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely fun for outdoor movie nights!

Yo, if you’re looking for a solid outdoor projector, check out the VISOUD 9500L! Seriously, for the price, it’s a steal. The picture quality is on point! Just a heads up though—if you wanna binge-watch Netflix or Amazon movies, you’ll need to hook up your phone to it using an HDMI cable. I grabbed this $50 Apple adapter to make it work, and it was totally worth it. Don’t make my mistake and forget that cable; you’ll be super disappointed if you try to watch without it! Trust me, snag it right away and you’ll be all set for movie nights under the stars!
