Valeo and Appotronics are teaming up to create a groundbreaking laser-based headlight system. This innovation will not only enhance Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) functionality for improved road safety but also meet drivers’ growing demand for more comfortable lighting and entertainment features.
On April 24, Valeo—a global leader in automotive lighting systems and software—and Appotronics, the inventor of ALPD® laser technology, announced a strategic partnership. Together, they will launch next-gen automotive lighting solutions featuring Appotronics’ ALL-in-ONE full-color laser headlights.
Valeo will leverage its expertise in lighting system design, electronic control unit development, and cutting-edge software, while Appotronics contributes its advanced laser lighting technology. This collaboration aims to accelerate the commercialization of next-gen headlight systems.

By integrating their technologies, Valeo and Appotronics will offer headlight solutions with advanced ADB capabilities, enhancing safety and comfort for drivers and pedestrians alike.
Valeo’s system integration and software expertise will combine with Appotronics’ ALPD® laser tech. The headlights also support high-definition road projections and outdoor movie playback, turning any flat surface or dedicated screen into a cinematic display.
ALL-in-ONE: A Breakthrough in Smart Lighting
The ALL-in-ONE laser headlight packs multiple advanced features into a single compact module:
- Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB)
- Road surface projection
- In-car entertainment (video playback)
Its smart system auto-optimizes lighting for different scenarios:
- Highway mode: Extended beam range
- Urban mode: Anti-glare to avoid dazzling others
- Plus, 10-level brightness adjustment, auto-focus, keystone correction, and zoom capabilities.
Powered by Appotronics’ ALPD® laser tech, these headlights deliver 10x the brightness of standard automotive LEDs (with the same DLP chip setup) and 200% higher luminous flux, all while using less energy.
