First Impressions
The TV has a modern design that looks great in any room. It has thin bezels on three sides, with a thicker curved bottom bezel. The feet are slim and made of metal and don't take up much space. The back has a mostly flat metallic top part and a thicker plastic housing on the bottom half. The metallic portion is rigid, while theres some flex on the plastic housing, but it isnt excessive. Most of the inputs are side-facing, so they're easy to access unless the TV is mounted flush against the wall. There are clips built into the feet to help withcable management.
The TVs build quality is decent. The materials are fairly sturdy, especially the metal portion on the back. Theres a bit of flex in the plastic portion of the back, but this isnt uncommon and wont cause any issues. The metal feet are sturdy and support it well, but there's some wobble front to back.

However, the presence of non-removable ads throughout the interface may detract from the viewing experience for some users. Additionally, the ability to cast content from mobile devices enhances its functionality. |

Viewing Experience | The Toshiba C350 2023 presents a mixed overall impression. While it boasts a great viewing angle, allowing for consistent image quality from the side, its performance in darker environments is significantly hindered by poor contrast that results in dull, gray blacks and disappointing black uniformity. The absence of a local dimming feature limits its ability to enhance dark scenes or brighten highlights, leading to a washed-out appearance in darker content. Color performance is adequate, with good tone mapping that accurately represents most colors, though it struggles with undersaturated greens, yellows, and reds, particularly in HDR. The gray uniformity is just passable, with noticeable darkening at the sides of the screen. Reflection handling is decent but not ideal for bright rooms, as direct reflections can be distracting. Overall, the Toshiba C350 2023 is best suited for environments with controlled lighting, where its viewing angles can be appreciated, but it falls short in delivering a compelling experience for darker scenes and vibrant color representation. |
Audio
Parameter | Toshiba C350 |
---|---|
Audio Experience | Overall Impression: The product delivers a mediocre frequency response, lacking in bass, which results in minimal thump or rumble. While the mid-range is fairly balanced and clear for dialogue, the volume output is limited, with noticeable compression at maximum levels. The distortion performance is decent, maintaining low levels at moderate listening levels, but shows only slight increases in distortion when pushed to maximum volume. |

Motion Smoothing | Overall Impression: The TV exhibits a decent response time, performing consistently across various content types, but it falls short in content processing, struggling with macro-blocking and pixelization. While it can display clear images at maximum brightness, the use of pulse width modulation for dimming results in low-frequency flicker at lower brightness levels, which may lead to eye strain for sensitive viewers. Additionally, the absence of a motion interpolation feature limits its ability to enhance motion clarity, particularly during fast-moving scenes. |

Connecting TV | Overall Impression: The TV offers an impressive gaming and desktop experience with extremely low input lag and proper chroma 4:4:4 support in Game Mode or PC picture mode. While it excels in responsiveness and clarity, it does have limitations, such as support for only 60Hz at 4K or 1080p and HDMI 2.0 bandwidth across its ports. Additionally, the inability to passthrough certain 7.1 audio formats may restrict audio performance for some users. Overall, it's a solid choice for gamers seeking a low-latency display, though audio enthusiasts may need to consider alternative connections for optimal sound. |
