But let me tell you, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. First off, the built-in ATSC 3.0 tuner? Total bummer. I’ve got it hooked up with an HDHOMERUN4K for the same signal, and the Sony just decides to drop out every 15-30 minutes, flashing a “NO ANTENNA CONNECTED” error. The HDHOMERUN? It just keeps on trucking.

Then there’s the issue with some of the apps, especially YouTubeTV. Sometimes it loses sync and shows this weird white line of pixels on the left side, which somehow spreads to all inputs, but the menus still look fine. I’ve gone through the whole factory reset dance with Sony support twice, sent them videos, and then—poof!—they ghosted me. Rebooting does fix it, but it takes a few tries to get it to stop looping.

The good news? If you use an external streamer, you won’t run into these issues at all. Honestly, for the price on Amazon right now, I’d say it’s still a solid buy. Just grab an external streamer, and you’re all set!
