Sony X90 J and Sony X85 J are two TVs very similar, but the price is different. In this article, we will compare Sony X90 J and Sony X85 J to see what the differences are.
When comparing the two TVs together, there are obvious differences between the X90J and X85J images, the most intuitive difference being that the overall picture of the X85J is grayish and the contrast ratio is low. This difference is obvious in the main interface (the comparison is done in the image mode with the same parameters).
The X85J does not use zonal light control, so the control of the dark field is not as good as the X90J. In contrast, the X85J will appear to have a lack of contrast. The X85J's peak brightness is also nearly 300nit lower than the X90J's, which makes the X85J's picture appear even darker. When playing HDR videos, the difference between the two is even more pronounced.
The contrast ratio of the X90J appears higher for different types of images in the same image mode.
4K multiplier compensation is actually available on both TVs, and the difference is not very big. Both TVs are able to boost 2K resolution resources to near 4K definition through algorithms.
Another important difference is that the image chip is different, the X85J uses the old X1 image processing chip, the X90J uses the newly launched XR cognitive chip, the algorithm will be more advanced and can make the picture have a better level.
The X90J is basically ahead of the X85J in terms of picture quality in all aspects, but this difference is more intuitive when comparing the same screen, if you look at the X85J alone, the 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 interface configuration has been very perfect, daily viewing, games can meet, very balanced, the price is very good.
