System Experience

Setting up the Sony X900H was an experience that left me pleasantly surprised. At first, I was a bit hesitant about the size, especially since I was moving from a smaller TV. But with the help of a friend, we managed to get it out of the box and assembled without any issues. The legs attached easily, and I appreciated that I didn't have to deal with screws. The TV feels sturdy once it's on the stand, and it looks sleek and modern. I also found the Android TV setup process to be intuitive, especially with the option to link my phone. It made entering my account info a breeze, and everything was up and running in no time.

Viewing Experience

The picture quality is where this TV truly shines. From the moment I turned it on, I was captivated by the vibrant colors and deep blacks. Watching movies in 4K HDR is nothing short of breathtaking, and I was amazed at how much detail I could see in scenes that I had previously watched on my old TV. It feels like I’m seeing everything for the first time! The upscaling for older content is impressive too, and I love how it enhances even my favorite classic films. I did notice some slight darkening in the corners, but it’s minor and didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment.

Audio Experience

I have to admit, I was surprised by the sound quality of the built-in speakers. I expected to rely on my soundbar, but the X900H delivers surprisingly clear audio that fills the room nicely. The dialogue is crisp, and I can hear every detail in the soundtracks. I still plan to set up my home theater system eventually, but for now, I’m content with how the TV sounds on its own.

Other Experience

Using the Android TV interface has been a mixed bag for me. While I appreciate the speed and responsiveness of the menus, I sometimes find navigating between apps a bit cumbersome. There’s a learning curve, but I’m getting used to it. I also love the built-in Chromecast feature, which allows me to easily stream content from my phone. However, the remote control could use some improvement; it's a bit long and the button placement is not the most intuitive. I often find myself fumbling around in the dark, wishing it had backlighting.

Conclusion

Pros:
- Stunning picture quality with rich colors and deep blacks.
- Great upscaling for older content.
- Surprisingly good built-in sound quality.
- Easy setup process, especially with phone integration.
- Responsive Android TV interface with plenty of app options.

Cons:
- Remote control could be better designed; it’s a bit clunky and lacks backlighting.
- Minor darkening in corners, although not a major issue.
- Some quirks with navigating the Android TV interface.
- Occasional software glitches that can be annoying.

Overall Evaluation:
In summary, the Sony X900H has exceeded my expectations in many ways. The picture quality alone makes it worth the investment, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying movie nights and gaming sessions alike. While there are some minor drawbacks, they don’t overshadow the overall experience. I’m excited to see how it performs with future updates, especially for gaming, and I can confidently recommend this TV to anyone looking for a solid mid-range option that doesn’t compromise on quality.

My old Bravia was a solid 16 years old and still kicking, but I figured it was finally time to get something new. So, I grabbed a new TV back in 2020. The first one showed up, and it was totally dead on arrival. I sent it back, and they sent me a replacement a few days later. Fast forward almost 5 years, and this new TV is still going strong and looking great!
