First Impressions
The Sony BRAVIA 7 has a sleek, premium design that looks great in any room. It has thin bezels on three sides, with a slightly thicker bottom bezel that has a brushed metallic finish. The back of the TV has a nice, clean look, with the typical checkerboard pattern found on all other recent Sony TVs. Sadly, theres nothing forcable management, so its hard to get the clean look you could achieve with other recent Sony TVs like theSony X93L/X93CL.
The build quality of this TV is excellent. The plastic panels feel solid and well-built, and there's a good mix of premium materials, with the metal feet and the metal border around the TV.

System Experience | The Sony BRAVIA 7 offers a modern and streamlined experience with its Google TV version 12 interface, featuring a vast selection of streaming apps that run smoothly. The integration of Google Chromecast enhances its functionality, allowing easy content casting from mobile devices. Additionally, the option to connect a Bravia webcam for video calls adds to its versatility. However, users may find the presence of ads within the interface somewhat detracting, even with the ability to opt out of personalized advertisements. Overall, the BRAVIA 7 stands out for its robust app support and user-friendly interface, despite the ad presence. |

Viewing Experience | The Sony BRAVIA 7 delivers impressive performance with its Mini LED backlight, offering fantastic contrast and deep blacks when local dimming is activated. While it excels in color gamut coverage, especially in HDR content, some issues such as blooming around bright highlights and a noticeable halo effect during fast motion can detract from the viewing experience. The TV's gray and black uniformity is commendable, but its viewing angles are limited, making it less suitable for wide seating arrangements. Reflection handling is average, with distracting reflections in bright environments. Overall, the BRAVIA 7 is a strong contender for high-quality visuals, but certain drawbacks, particularly in viewing angles and reflection management, may impact its appeal for some users. |

Audio Experience | The Sony BRAVIA 7 offers a decent overall audio performance with a well-balanced frequency response at moderate volume levels. However, it falls short in terms of bass, which is typical for modern TVs, and struggles to deliver sufficient loudness without noticeable compression and pumping effects at maximum volume. While distortion remains minimal even at high volumes, the limitations in low-frequency response and maximum loudness may affect the overall listening experience. |

Motion Smoothing | The Sony BRAVIA 7 impresses with its ability to enhance low-quality content, effectively smoothing out compression issues without sacrificing fine detail. Its quick response time contributes to a generally positive viewing experience, though there is a slight motion blur with fast-moving objects that remains largely unobtrusive. The handling of shadow details is commendable, minimizing black smearing and overshoot. While the TV employs pulse width modulation for backlight control, the flicker at 720Hz is typically imperceptible, although it may affect those sensitive to flicker. The local dimming feature adds further versatility, allowing for a flicker-free experience at specific backlight settings. However, the interpolation of lower-frame-rate content to 120 fps falls short, with noticeable artifacts and stuttering evident during slow panning shots. Overall, the Sony BRAVIA 7 delivers solid performance with some minor drawbacks in specific areas. |

Connecting TV | The TV delivers an impressive gaming experience with superb low input lag in GamePicture Mode, making it suitable for non-competitive gamers. It fully supports many PS5 features, but lacks compatibility with 1440p @ 120Hz signals. The HDMI ports provide a mix of capabilities, with three supporting HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, though using eARC can limit the number of available HDMI 2.1 connections. Additionally, it supports eARC for high-quality audio transmission, ensuring compatibility with various external audio sources. Overall, the TV is well-equipped for gaming and audio performance, though it has some limitations in HDMI connectivity. |
User Feedback
Pros:• Sleek design
• Advanced XR Processor technology
• Enhanced color and contrast capabilities
Cons:
• AI processing fails to accurately enhance images based on viewer focus, leading to a distorted viewing experience
• Upscaling quality is poor, resulting in unnatural picture quality
• Blurring of background details detracts from the overall viewing experience
• Inconsistent picture clarity, especially with moving subjects or those not centered on the screen
• Automatic adjustments to picture settings can be frustrating and inconvenient
Overall Impression:
The Bravia 7, despite its advanced technology and sleek design, falls short in delivering a satisfying viewing experience. The AI processing and upscaling features do not perform as promised, leading to a distorted and inconsistent picture quality that fails to rival older models. For those who prioritize natural image quality and control over settings, this TV may disappoint significantly.
