The Samsung Freestyle features a compact design and weighs only 1.8 pounds, which makes it easy to carry. However, it lacks an integrated battery, so it must remain plugged into an outlet. Samsung does sell a compact battery base for the Freestyle, but it must be purchased separately. Otherwise, it includes full auto keystone correction and autofocus, simplifying setup, and its tiltable stand allows you to adjust the projection angle as needed. This 1080p DLP projector has a native 1080p resolution, and uses an LED bulb as its light source, so you likely wont ever have to worry about replacing it.The projector projects a 30 image at a distance of 2.6 feet, up to a 100" image at around 8.9 feet.

Viewing Experience | Overall Impression: The Samsung Freestyle 2nd Gen projector offers excellent brightness uniformity and a wide color gamut, making it capable of delivering vibrant colors for SDR content. However, its low brightness and subpar contrast significantly hinder its performance, particularly in darker scenes, resulting in a less satisfying movie-watching experience. While it has potential for colorful visuals, the limitations in brightness and contrast ultimately detract from its overall usability in typical viewing environments. |

System Experience | Overall Impression: The projector offers a user-friendly experience with Samsung's Tizen smart OS, providing seamless casting capabilities via SmartThings and AirPlay 2. Its built-in 5W speaker system enhances audio output, making it suitable for casual viewing. However, the limitation of the USB-C port to charging only may restrict connectivity options. With Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, the device ensures decent wireless performance, while the micro HDMI port's eARC functionality adds versatility for audio passthrough. Overall, this projector combines convenience and solid performance for everyday use. |
