The Samsung QN95D has a very premium design, although it looks very similar to theSamsung QN95C QLED. Nevertheless, it has a modern and sleek look, and the bezels are incredibly thin.
The back of the TV looks great, with a nice textured design to the back panel. There are grooves along the back and through the stand to help withcable managementand a cover that hides the cables on the stand for a really clean setup. There's also aconnector near the top of the TVthat allows you to connect a Samsung camera add-on, sold separately.
The Samsung QN95D has excellent build quality. It's built with premium materials, including a solid metal stand and premium plastic on the back.

Viewing Experience
The Samsung QN95D is a high-performance TV that excels in several key areas, particularly in contrast and black uniformity. It effectively displays deep blacks even in complex scenes, contributing to a rich viewing experience. The color gamut is impressive, with excellent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and good tone mapping, although there are some inaccuracies in the wider Rec. 2020 color space.

While the TV demonstrates great blooming performance, there are instances of noticeable blooming around bright objects, especially when displayed against black backgrounds. The lighting zone transitions are decent, but highlights moving quickly across the screen can appear dimmer, leading to some haloing effects.

Viewing angles are acceptable, but off-center viewing results in color shifting and brightness loss. However, the TV excels in reflection handling, with a semi-gloss screen effectively minimizing direct and indirect reflections, making it suitable for bright environments.

Overall, while the QN95D has some limitations, such as the inability to fully disable local dimming and minor issues with text clarity for PC use, it remains a strong contender for those seeking a TV with excellent contrast, color accuracy, and impressive handling of reflections.

Overall Impression: The TV delivers a well-balanced sound profile with clear dialogue, making it suitable for regular viewing in quieter settings. However, its limited volume capacity may not meet the needs of louder environments, and while distortion is minimal at higher volumes, the overall audio performance may fall short for those seeking robust bass.

Motion Smoothing
The Samsung QN95D is a television that offers decent performance in various aspects of image quality, though it does come with some notable drawbacks. Its low-quality content smoothing preserves detail effectively, but struggles with artifact smoothing, leaving visible macro blocking in low-bitrate content. The response time is commendable, minimizing blur in fast-moving scenes; however, it suffers in dark transitions, leading to black smearing and inverse ghosting.

The backlight utilizes pulse width modulation (PWM) for dimming, which can introduce flicker, varying significantly across different modes and settings. This may impact viewing comfort for some users, especially given the fluctuating flicker frequencies. While the TV features motion interpolation to enhance motion clarity, it only performs adequately in slower scenes, with noticeable issues in fast-moving scenes, including distracting artifacts and haloing. Overall, the Samsung QN95D delivers a mixed performance, excelling in certain areas while falling short in others.

Connecting TV
The Samsung QN95D TV delivers an outstanding gaming experience with its incredibly low input lag in Game Mode, ensuring a responsive and immersive interaction for gamers. Its compatibility with high resolutions and refresh rates, such as 1440p @ 120Hz and 4k @ 120Hz, enhances the visual quality for current-gen consoles and high-end gaming PCs. The support for HDMI 2.1 across all four ports enables seamless connectivity with multiple high-bandwidth devices. Additionally, the inclusion of Auto Low Latency Mode simplifies the user experience by automatically optimizing settings for the lowest input lag. While it supports HDR10+ and eARC for high-quality audio pass-through, the absence of Dolby Vision and DTS formats may limit some users' experiences. Overall, the Samsung QN95D stands out as a powerful choice for gamers, with exceptional performance and features tailored to enhance gameplay.
