This week Roku released an update that combines high-definition antennas with Roku's live TV channels. Although some users like this change, more users think that this update makes the homepage confusing, slow, and inconvenient.
Through the update, users who use Roku TV to watch OTA channels will find that there are more than 100 free Roku channels mixed on the homepage, but this feature cannot be turned off.
On the Roku message board, a Roku employee responded to the problem of confusing homepage functionality. He said Roku recently deleted a feature that integrates streaming and over-the-air (OTA) content in high-definition antennas into a comprehensive live TV channel for Roku TV users. Roku TV users will only see the OTA channel when selecting the "Live TV" tile on the Roku home screen. If Roku TV users want to see streaming content in the live TV channel guide, they can do so through the "Live TV Channel Guide" tile on the Roku channel.
Roku TV users’ OTA channel guide will return to normal, and Roku’s free live channels can still be found on the Roku channel app.
