Although the price of OLED screens has been reduced a lot, there are still some problems. For example, because they are composed of organic molecules, they will have a relatively short life span, and OLED screens only have a life span of about 10 years. Besides, because the various colors of OLED life are not the same (blue OLED life is the shortest), the blue color fades after the decline, so the screen display produces an uneven color.
QLED's full name is "Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diodes", a technology that uses "Quantum Dot", which are invisible to the naked eye, that is, nanocrystals to emit light. Quantum dot is very powerful, it can light itself like OLED, but also can use the backlight method to light. But quantum dot self-lighting technology is not yet mature (and very expensive), therefore, the QLED TV on the market, in fact, is still using the backlight way to build from.
Compared to OLED screen, it has some advantages: the screen is brighter, cheaper, less screen aging problem; but likewise, the view angle is smaller, black is not black and other problems still exist.
QD-OLED is a hybrid screen that combines both backlight and self-luminous technologies, plus the quantum dot technology that Samsung is proud of. It uses OLED for blue light, so it is self-illuminating, while red and green light is illuminated through the aid of quantum dots, allowing the blue OLED to shine as a backlight with delicate hues.
Because in fact only blue OLED in the light, so do not worry about the various problems arising from the different life of each color, it will be more beautiful than the traditional LCD screen, the production cost is also cheaper than all self-emitting OLED screens.
