If you are looking for a decent TV box or steaming device for home entertaiment, and you are hesitating between NVIDIA-SHIELD Android TV Pro and Apple TV 4K, I highly recommended you read the following 11 Things to Consider Before Buying:

  2. - Unique form factor: it’s a little cyclinder that easily hides behind your TV, it makes almost no noise.
  3. - It is FAST. If you think “my TV’s apps are just fine”, don’t use this. You’ll realize just how laggy that LG/Sony/Samsung/Vizio OS really is!
  4. - It has the best remote of any streamer: it lights up, it’s ergonomic, and it’s not the Apple TV remote. (which is one of the worst in the industry)

The Apple TV 4k is better if:
  1. - You purchased lots of content on iTunes
  2. - You want to watch Apple TV+ (there isn’t an app for the Shield, but that may change)
  3. - You don’t like “tinkering” with settings, at all, ever.
In conclusion, If you want the best streaming experience for your 4k HDR TV and:
  • You don’t want an Apple TV 4k.
  • You don’t need to run a Plex Server.
  • Cost is no object.
  • you need to run a Plex server (or need to hookup USB drives):
- Get the NVIDIA-SHIELD Android TV Pro version. It’s an extremely competent and extremely cheap way to serve up Plex to other devices.

The Apple TV 4K and Nvidia Shield TV Pro are both excellent choices for buyers who don't mind paying a little extra for a premium streaming box with advanced features. They both include 4K HDR video support with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio capabilities, and access to plenty of apps.

The Apple TV 4K and the Nvidia Shield TV Pro are largely considered to be two of the best standalone streaming devices out there.
Both players include support for 4K HDR video with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, and a large selection of apps.

The Apple TV 4K offers the best balance between high-end features and value, and it's also the best choice if you already own other Apple devices and want to watch Apple TV+.

If you're a dedicated Android user, however, and don't mind paying a bit more for advanced gaming and upscaling features, then the more expensive Nvidia Shield TV Pro is probably a better fit.

I own many other Android devices and prefer Google Assistant, it's a better idea to get the Nvidia Shield TV Pro for me.

Overall Performance. The NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro proved its worth in terms of device performance. It's great for gaming considering the picture clarity, audio quality and microconsole features that make it a solid streaming player

The NVIDIA Shield TV is still the best Android TV box you can buy in 2020.
NVIDIA has done a great job offering software updates that continually make the Shield TV Pro better than before

the decision between Apple TV 4K and the NVIDIA Shield TV will come down to the content and services that you and your family are already using.

Apple TV has its unique advantages.
But for the most of users, an open souce Android system seems more friendly
