Microsoft Xbox Series X has three big advantages over SONY PlayStation 5

With the covid-19 pandemic still raging and the global economy still contracting, how will the combined impact of supply chain issues and high unemployment affect the launch of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5?

Xbox Series X VS PlayStation 5

Today, I'll discuss several ways in which Microsoft is leading the next generation of software packages. SONY's exclusive PS5 will only be available on the PS5 (at least for a long time), while Microsoft is committed to rolling out the platform on all Microsoft platforms, including PCS. From a purely practical point of view, owning a gaming PC and a PS5 makes the most sense.

Let's take a look at three major advantages of Microsoft Xbox Series X over Sony PlayStation 5.

1. Xbox Game Pass is a killer app

There's nothing like Xbox Game Pass in the gaming industry. There are other similar services, such as EA Access or PS Now, but Game Pass is the best. Subscribers can access a vast catalog of games that are constantly updated, just as Netflix does each month.

The library has access to all first-party exclusivity of Microsoft on day one. The acquisition of a number of development studios will be of greater value to consumers and Microsoft than ever before for Xbox Live X and Xbox Series X.

Game Pass Ultimate combines Game Pass With an Xbox Live With Gold subscription for $14.99 per month, which is a great way to access online games and apps for free monthly Gold and Game Pass. This is an extraordinary value that will continue to apply to Xbox SeriesX.

2. Microsoft has done a lot with "unlimited access".

Microsoft will "use [Xbox All Access] when the console starts."

That's good news for any gamer on a limited budget, and even if the Xbox Series X costs more than the PlayStation 5, it could give Microsoft a huge startup advantage.

On the one hand, as noted above, the covid-19 pandemic has severely damaged the economy and people's spending.

For many gamers, accessibility can make a big difference. Let gamers pay for the Xbox Series X in the same way they pay for a smartphone -- once a month for 24 months.

Players can now buy a new Xbox One X or Xbox One S for free, no monthly payments, monthly payments (from $20 per month for a diskless Xbox One S), and up to $25 per month for Xbox One X), and get a free 2-year Game Pass Ultimate subscription as part of the deal.

Keep in mind that Game Pass Ultimate already costs $15 a month, so you can buy it and a console for $5 to $10 a month. It's a crazy trade.

Even better, after 18 months, you can trade in the old and upgrade to the next generation system. Even though the Xbox Series X is very expensive, this makes it more affordable, especially since it includes Game Pass Ultimate, which means you can imagine not buying any new games for a few years, and still have more than 100 games to play, including the latest Microsoft exclusive products.

3. Smart Delivery brings tremendous value to Xbox One owners.

Microsoft doesn't guarantee that every Xbox One game it releases on the Xbox Series X can be bought only once, but it promises to do two things.

First, for the foreseeable future at least, all of Microsoft's exclusive products will be released on Xbox One and the next generation, and you'll only have to pay once for both.

Second, any game labeled "intelligent delivery from a third party" can also be purchased once and used in two generations. For example, if you buy assassin's creed Valhalla on Xbox One and upgrade to Xbox Series X a year from now, you'll get the Xbox Series X for free. It's unclear whether a game like destiny 2 will become a "smart delivery."

This is not the same thing as backward compatibility. We should expect many of the current versions of the game to be backward compatible on both the Xbox Series X and the PS5. This is different because you are actually getting the next version of the game for free.

Maybe SONY will do something similar in the future, or announce it when they fully show the PlayStation 5. But, for now, this is just another huge advantage of the Xbox Series X, another way Microsoft has made gaming trivial that Xbox gamers can afford.

Game Pass, All Access, and Smart Delivery with 1-3 of the capabilities make the Xbox Series X (possibly the Xbox Series X) significantly valuable to consumers. Now, the real question becomes: will the console actually release this vacation, and if so, will there be enough supply to meet demand?

These questions are up in the air, and it's best not to even try. But now, Microsoft has done a great job of making its next-generation system attractive, affordable at any price, and bringing full value to all gamers.
