Madden NFL 21: free upgrade to Xbox Series X

Electronic Arts finally returns to its announcement and extends the period during which the free upgrade will be available. Information is available on the official title page and the publisher specifies in passing that details concerning the other platforms will be arriving soon (perhaps during the conference on June 19).

During our recent announcement during Inside Xbox, we announced a few dates limiting this free upgrade offer. After listening to our players' response, we are extending the offer throughout our Madden 21 season until the release of Madden NFL 22, so players can upgrade to Madden NFL 21 on Xbox Series X when they purchase their new console during this period

Electronic Arts unveiled Madden NFL 21 at Inside Xbox by also announcing that a free update to the Xbox Series X version will be available. The game will not support Smart Delivery, in fact, the details are available on the EA site and we learn that the free upgrade will be part of a specific offer limited in time:

To receive the offer, players must purchase Madden NFL 21 on Xbox One before December 31, 2020 and update the Xbox Series X by March 31, 2021.

So be careful if you want to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version of your game, players who buy the Xbox One version after December 31, 2020 will no longer be able to take advantage of the free upgrade.
