System Experience

LG Electronics PA70G Projector
Diyeeni Mini Projector
System ExperienceSetting up the LG Electronics PA70G projector was surprisingly straightforward, which I appreciated. It was easy to mount, and the automatic keystone adjustment feature really simplified the process. However, I was a bit let down to find that an HDMI cable was not included in the box. As someone who values having everything I need to get started right away, this small oversight was a minor frustration for me.Setting up the Diyeeni Mini Projector was a bit of a mixed bag for me. While I appreciate that it's designed to be portable, I found the initial setup to be less intuitive than I had hoped. It took me a little while to figure out how to connect everything properly, especially with the various devices I wanted to use. Once I got it sorted, though, I could see its potential for fun movie nights and other gatherings.

Viewing Experience

Viewing ExperienceOnce I got the projector running, I was genuinely impressed with the picture quality. The colors were vibrant and the resolution was sharp, especially when I connected it to my Blu-ray player or played high-definition content. I found that the image really shone in a dimly lit environment, where the 700 lumens provided a bright and engaging viewing experience. Still, I noticed that achieving perfect focus across the entire image was a bit tricky, with some areas being sharper than others, particularly when projecting text or detailed graphics. The picture quality is where this projector really shines. I was pleasantly surprised by how clear and vibrant the images turned out, especially during our outdoor movie nights. It made our wedding celebration feel even more special as we projected some memorable moments. However, I did notice that the clarity wasn't consistent, and there were times when the image looked a bit fuzzy, which was disappointing.

Other Experience

Other ExperienceUsing the projector has been a mixed bag for me. While it's lightweight and fairly quiet during operation—much quieter than my previous projector—it does have a few quirks that can be annoying. The sound quality from the built-in speaker is surprisingly good for such a compact device, but I would still recommend using external speakers for a more immersive experience, especially for movies or gaming. The lack of zoom and focus adjustment issues were frustrating, particularly when trying to get the image just right.I’ve used this projector for several occasions, including family hangouts and holiday decorations, and overall, it added a unique touch to our gatherings. However, I did encounter some technical glitches. For instance, I struggled with the sound; it seemed like the volume never quite worked when connected to our devices. I was hoping for a seamless experience, but these hiccups took away from what could have been a perfect night.

Our Verdict

LG Electronics PA70G Projector:

Pros:
There are definitely some standout features that I appreciate about the PA70G. The LED lamp life is a huge plus; I love that I won't have to worry about changing bulbs any time soon. The instant on/off feature is also a treat, making it convenient to use. The picture quality, when everything aligns right, can be stunning, especially for movies and high-definition content. Also, the device's portability is a major advantage for someone like me who might want to move it around for different viewing occasions.

Cons:
However, it’s not all roses. The focus issue is a significant drawback—I find myself having to adjust the focus repeatedly to find the right sweet spot, which can be quite tedious. Additionally, the absence of zoom functionality means that I have to be very deliberate about where I mount the projector, which can limit flexibility. I also sometimes feel that the controls could be more intuitive, especially when it comes to navigating the settings menu.

Overall Evaluation:
In summary, I feel somewhat torn about the LG PA70G projector. It has a lot of potential and offers some great features, especially for its price point, but its shortcomings in focus and setup can be quite frustrating at times. If you're looking for an affordable projector that can deliver good picture quality in the right conditions, it might be worth considering. However, if you're someone who requires precise focus for presentations or detailed work, you may want to look elsewhere. Overall, I’m satisfied with my purchase but remain aware of its limitations.

Diyeeni Mini Projector:

Pros:
One of the biggest advantages of the Diyeeni Mini Projector is its portability. I love that I can easily take it along for outdoor events or even just set it up in different rooms. The picture quality, when it works well, is impressive and definitely enhances the viewing experience. Plus, it's great that it can connect to my phone, making it super convenient for spontaneous movie nights.

Cons:
On the downside, the sound issue was a real letdown. I expected the built-in speakers to work better, and the lack of a visible switch for the internal battery left me confused about its functionality. Additionally, the SD card reader didn’t work as I had hoped, which limited my options for playback. Overall, these issues made it hard to rely on the projector for every occasion.

Overall Evaluation:
In conclusion, the Diyeeni Mini Projector has been a fun addition to our entertainment setup, but it hasn't been without its challenges. While the picture quality is commendable and it’s wonderfully portable, the sound issues and setup difficulties can be frustrating. If they can address the sound and connectivity problems, this projector has the potential to be an absolute favorite for family movie nights and special events. Despite the issues, I still find myself loving the moments it helps create.

So I got this Diyeeni Mini Projector, and honestly, it’s a mixed bag. The speakers? Yeah, they’re a total dud—if they even exist at all. No sound coming out, and there’s no switch for a battery, so I’m guessing there’s not even a battery in there. The SD card reader? No luck there either. But hey, on the bright side, the picture quality looks pretty solid!

So, I recently got my hands on the LG Electronics PA70G Projector, and let me tell you, for my first projector, it's pretty awesome! I've only used a few projectors at friends' places, but this one really stands out. The LED bulb is a game changer, though you’ll want to keep it in a dark room for the best brightness. But trust me, when it's dark, the picture quality is just stunning!

I haven’t tried out the 3D feature yet, but the compact size makes it super easy to bring along to gaming nights. Watching Blu-rays on this thing? Absolutely mind-blowing! And gaming? Just as amazing! Honestly, for the price, I think it’s the best deal out there right now. Highly recommend it!

So, let me tell you about the LG Electronics PA70G Projector – first off, this thing is super tiny! Like, if you took a stack of 500 sheets of copy paper and sliced it in half, that's pretty much the size of it.

When I fired it up for the first time, wow! The clarity and colors blew me away. Way better than my old Infocus 4805 480p projector!

Here’s the lowdown on the good stuff:
- It’s a bright little beast with 700 Lumens.
- The 720 HD picture is just fantastic (check out the owl pic I shared!).
- The LED lamp is a game changer – no changing bulbs ever!
- It sips power too, just 80 watts even when cranked up.
- Colors pop like crazy!
- Tons of adjustments to get it just right.
- Super lightweight and small – perfect for any setup.
- Setting it up is a breeze.
- The auto keystone feature? Huge win!
- Turns on and off almost instantly.
- Built-in speakers are surprisingly good.

Now, let’s get real about the downsides:
- The focus can be a bit of a pain.
- It has an external power supply.
- The fan can get a little loud when on full blast (but it’s not a dealbreaker).
- No zoom on the lens, so you gotta position it just right.
- It has a short throw ratio, so at 11.5 feet you’re looking at about a 115" diagonal image.

All in all, I really dig this projector, but that focus issue can be annoying. I doubt I’ll keep it for more than a couple of years because of that.

Quick update from November 22, 2013: I’m still rocking this projector. Heard some buzz about a new 1080p LED projector from LG called the PF80G coming out soon.

If you’re thinking of using the PA70G for anything other than movies, I’d say steer clear because of the focus issue. Fingers crossed they sorted that out in the new models!

And one more thing, I found out that the focus problem is due to the projector not being perfectly centered with the image it throws. Check out the thread on AVSForum for more deets!
