How to identify the throw distance of the projector? What is Ultra Short Throw Projector? Let's see.
We can divide projectors into four categories according to different throw ratios.
2.5:1 and larger (100 inches for images 5.5 inches and above). Most of these are conference room projectors, which are rarely used at home given the larger space required.
2.5:1 to 1.2:1 (100" image between 5.5" and 2.64m). Most homes will choose this type of projection, with a zoom lens.
1.2:1 to 0.35:1 (100" image between 2.64m and 0.77m). This type of projector can be brought closer to the screen.
0.35:1 and smaller sizes (100" image at 0.77m and beyond). That is, almost close to the screen to project.
You can use the Projector Calculator to figure out the screen size of a certain throw distance.
