Optoma manufactures a full line of projectors. All Optoma projectors, regardless of model, have one key feature: at least one HD Multimedia Interface port that can transmit high-resolution video and audio over a single cable. Therefore, it's easy to connect Optoma projector to laptop by following the steps here.
Step 1
Press the "Power" button on the laptop and Optoma projector to turn it off. Wait for both to shut down completely.
Step 2
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI input of the Optoma projector. The flat cable has a protrusion on one side, so you must insert it the correct way; however, don't force it.
Step 3
Plug the other end of the cable into the laptop's HDMI port, taking care to ensure the correct orientation.
Step 4
Press the "Power" button to turn on your Optoma projector. Wait for it to warm up and start displaying images.
Step 5
Press the Source button on the Optoma projector or its remote until the HDMI input to which the computer is connected is selected.
Step 6
Press the "Power" button on your computer to turn it on and start the boot process.
Step 7
If you don't see the screen being projected, press the laptop's special key combination after boot to activate its HDMI port. Key combinations vary by laptop model and brand, but typically involve holding down the "Fn" key while pressing one of the numbered "F" keys on the top row of the keyboard. Look for the "F" key with a picture of your monitor, computer and monitor, VGA port, or text containing a combination of words such as "CRT", "VGA" or "LCD".
