First Impressions
The Hisense U7N has a nice overall design. It has thin bezels on the sides and top, with a slightly thicker bottom bezel. Unlike 2023'sHisense U7K, the TV uses a central stand instead of two feet. The back is made of plastic and looks identical to last yearsHisense U7K. Most of the inputs are side-facing, but theyre close enough to the edge of the TV that theyre accessible when its wall-mounted. A USB, ethernet, and optical port are located in a recessed cutout that faces the back. Unfortunately, these arent accessible if you have the TV mounted flush to the wall. The TV has a built-insubwoofernear the top, and there are clips on the TVs stand to help withcable management.
The TV has good build quality. Although its made entirely of plastic, its sturdy enough and well-built overall. The TV wobbles a bit on the plastic center-mounted stand, but it doesnt cause any issues and provides good stability. There are no glaring issues with the TVs design, but our unit did have some debris behind the panel, although it's not noticeable from a normal viewing distance.

It offers an impressive array of apps, making it simple to access a wide range of content. Viewing Experience | The Hisense U7N delivers impressive contrast, particularly with local dimming activated, achieving deep blacks in dark environments. While its HDR color gamut is commendable, offering excellent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, it does fall short in highly saturated colors. The TV exhibits decent gray uniformity with some minor issues, but overall black uniformity is excellent when local dimming is enabled. However, it struggles with blooming around bright highlights and fast-moving content, leading to noticeable haloing. The viewing angle is inadequate, making it less suitable for wider seating arrangements, as colors and brightness diminish off-center. On a positive note, it excels in reflection handling, effectively minimizing distractions from indirect and direct light. Lastly, the BGR subpixel layout may impact text clarity for PC use, although it doesn't significantly affect video or gaming content. Overall, the Hisense U7N is a strong performer in contrast and color accuracy, but it has limitations in viewing angles and some visual artifacts. |

Audio Experience | Overall Impression: The TV offers decent sound quality with clear dialogue at moderate volumes, but struggles with a mediocre frequency response and a lack of impactful bass. While distortion performance is acceptable at lower volumes, the audio experience becomes unbalanced and less enjoyable at higher volumes, and the speakers do not reach high sound levels effectively. |

Motion Smoothing | The Hisense U7N TV delivers commendable performance in handling low-quality content, effectively smoothing out artifacts while maintaining detail. Its response time is excellent for fast-moving objects, though it does exhibit some black smearing during dark scene transitions. The TV's behavior with variable refresh rates (VRR) can be inconsistent, particularly around the 100Hz mark, leading to distracting changes in response time and overshoot errors. While it employs pulse width modulation (PWM) for backlight dimming at a high frequency that minimizes flicker perception, those sensitive to flicker may still notice it. Additionally, the motion interpolation feature is available but struggles with clarity in motion, especially in faster scenes, resulting in noticeable artifacts and screen-tearing effects. Overall, the Hisense U7N offers a solid viewing experience for various content types, albeit with some limitations in dark scenes and motion handling. |

It provides full compatibility with the PS5, supporting high resolutions and refresh rates, including 1440p at 120Hz and 4K at 120Hz, along with HDMI Forum VRR and Auto Low Latency Mode for seamless transitions. The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on select ports allows for high-quality video output, while the eARC functionality enhances audio performance by supporting uncompressed audio formats. User Feedback
Pros:• Outstanding image quality on the 75-inch model
• Deep, natural, and vibrant colors on the 75-inch
• No need for adjustments out of the box for the 75-inch
• Extremely deep black contrast on both models
• Minimal noticeable difference in black depth between the two panels
• Magnification advantage of the 85-inch model
• Magnificent built-in speakers and subwoofer on both models
Cons:
• Significantly paler colors and inferior brightness on the 85-inch
• Annoying pinkish or reddish hue in white images/text on the 85-inch
• Difficulty in correcting color settings on the 85-inch
Overall Impression:
The 75-inch model stands out for its superior image quality, vibrant colors, and deep blacks, making it the preferred choice over the 85-inch model. Despite the larger size of the 85-inch, the visual performance and color accuracy of the 75-inch make it a more satisfying option for viewers.
