Why Pick It
Hisense U6 Series TV
The TV is a canvas waiting for your touch. Out of the box, I quickly disabled the "Motion Plus" feature—better known as the dreaded "soap opera effect" that turns cinema into daytime TV. With that gone, I fine-tuned the settings and unleashed the magic of Dolby Vision. The result? Vivid, lifelike visuals that rival any masterpiece in an art gallery. Each frame feels deliberate, painting a picture that draws you in.The built-in Dolby Atmos transforms your living room into a mini-theater. Sure, I plan to connect my external audio system eventually, but for now, the rich, immersive soundscape fills the room even at a whisper of volume. It’s like having an orchestra in your pocket—unassuming but powerful.
Three HDMI ports at 4K 60fps power my Apple TV, PS5, and PC seamlessly. The TV’s Google OS nudges you toward a connected Google Home setup, though I stuck with my Apple TV for now, and it handled the transition effortlessly. True, the UI can be sluggish, echoing my Bravia days, but an external device easily sidesteps this common smart TV hiccup.
Hisense U7 Series TV
The picture is beautiful! I've never seen so many options in a Smart TV. The availability of Apps seems endless. In fact there was only one on my Roku Ultra that I couldn't find on the TV. Local Dimming is certainly one of the best features, when compared to many of the lesser priced TVs, most don't have this level of features without paying twice as much for say a similar Sony. The sound is fantastic for an LED TV. The remote is a nicely sized with some mass to it remote that is simple enough yet enough complexity to make it very useful. Perhaps only missing the ability to turn on other devices. Such as my stereo, where I use it's remote.
One thing I had a challenge with was getting the Optical Audio output to work with my stereo. In short, when you hit the gear symbol on the remote it brings up a more general settings page. You have to then choose the gear on the TV to get to the advanced settings where the options for audio outputs are. Probably could have got to that in about 10 seconds if I knew that. Then I found out today that instead of hitting the gear button, there is a Menu button at the bottom of the remote that shows the Audio Output and easily allow you to arrow up or down and select a different one.
Hisense U8 Series TV
Right out of the box, the quality of the picture was impressive—truly excellent. After fine-tuning the settings and switching to filmmaker mode, I dialed in the brightness and color to achieve what can only be described as perfection. The color depth, clarity, and brightness are all exceptional, though at times, the brightness can be a tad overwhelming.Setting up the stand, however, was a different story. The instructions were a nightmare, reminiscent of the most cryptic IKEA diagrams. Given the TV's substantial weight, assembling it on the stand definitely requires an extra pair of hands. These setup challenges were frustrating, but they pale in comparison to the overall experience.
This TV is by far the most beautiful I have ever owned. The picture quality isn't just good, it's the kind of stunning you see on showroom floors and think, "It'll never look that good at home." With this TV, it actually does. Every time I turn it on, it's like stepping right onto the display room floor, with all the vibrant, lifelike images that come with it.
Hisense S7N Series TV
This TV is a genuine showstopper, effortlessly masquerading as a piece of art. It's not just a TV; it's a conversation starter, stunning clients and visitors alike with its unique and sophisticated appearance. Nestled in my office conference room, it serves as the centerpiece, drawing eyes and sparking intrigue. The art mode, complete with gentle music and subtly animated artwork, transforms the room into a dynamic gallery. Out of the 120 art pieces it can display, the select few that move have particularly captivated my clients, often leading them to inquire about the magic behind the moving images.I find myself occasionally lost in the beauty of art mode, a peaceful escape during the busy workday. Attaching or changing the frame is remarkably simple, although it's disappointing that it only comes with one light-colored frame option. Given the dark, rich mahogany tones of my conference room, a darker frame would blend more seamlessly. Although the current frame matches the wall color and I'm content for now, the prospect of purchasing a mahogany or dark oak frame is tempting, albeit an expensive endeavor, as the frames are quite pricey, sometimes costing as much as the TV itself.
However, be warned, it is incredibly heavy. The recommendation suggests two people for installation, but having three would be ideal, especially for mounting it at a higher position. This heft might be due to the integrated technology, as it doesn’t have an external box like some other models. Despite the weight, the installation effort is worth it for the elegance it adds to the space. The frame enhances its aesthetic appeal, and the artwork displayed is simply beautiful.
