First Impressions

The Hisense A6N looks nearly identical to most entry-level Hisense TVs, including the step-upHisense A7N. The glass panel protrudes from the screen enclosure, and it has very thin bezels.
Most of the back of the TV is made of a single metal panel, but the box that houses the electronics is made of plastic. Most of the inputs are side-facing, but theyre closer to the middle of the TV, making them a bit of a reach if youre trying to access them while the TV is wall-mounted. Some of the inputs face straight out the back and are impossible to access, and may require an angle adapter to connect an HDMI cable. Unfortunately, the TV doesn't come with any clips to help withcable management.
The Hisense A6N is decently built. The stand supports the TV well and only wobbles a bit when nudged. While there's nothing premium about this TV, there are no obvious weak points or issues.

Viewing Experience
The Hisense A6N presents several notable shortcomings that significantly impact the viewing experience. Its contrast performance is particularly poor, with raised and washed-out blacks that detract from picture quality, especially in dark settings. The absence of a local dimming feature means that highlights cannot be enhanced without affecting the overall brightness, leading to a lack of depth in darker scenes. Additionally, the color gamut is only decent, failing to deliver the vibrancy typically expected from HDR content.

While the gray uniformity is acceptable with some noticeable issues, the black uniformity is sub-par, exhibiting distracting warm spots and a general blue tint across the screen. On a positive note, the TV offers excellent viewing angles, making it suitable for group viewing, and it handles reflections decently without significant rainbow smear.

Overall, the Hisense A6N falls short in critical areas such as contrast and color performance, making it less suitable for dark room viewing and HDR content. It may appeal to users who prioritize wide viewing angles, but those seeking a rich and immersive visual experience may be disappointed.

Motion Smoothing
The overall impression of the Hisense A6 Series TV is that it falls short in content processing, particularly with low-quality streams, which can lead to macro-blocking and pixelization despite maintaining fine details. The response time is average, resulting in noticeable motion blur that detracts from the viewing experience, although shadow detail transitions are handled adequately. The use of pulse width modulation for backlight dimming introduces low-frequency flicker at lower brightness levels, which may cause eye strain for sensitive users, although this can be mitigated by setting the backlight to maximum. Additionally, the motion interpolation feature offers limited improvement for smoother motion, but tends to produce artifacts and tearing during fast action scenes. Overall, while the TV has some redeeming qualities, its performance in critical areas leaves much to be desired.

Connecting TV
Overall Impression: The TV offers an impressive gaming experience with incredibly low input lag in Game mode, making it highly responsive for gamers. However, its limitation to a 60Hz refresh rate means it cannot fully utilize the capabilities of the PS5. While it supports eARC for high-quality audio transmission, its limited support for certain audio formats may require physical media collectors to connect directly to their sound systems for optimal performance.
