First Impressions

The Hisense75U8Nlooks the same as the other sizes. It has a premium design overall, with thin bezels on the sides and top and a slightly thicker bottom bezel.
The back is made of plastic and has a grid-like pattern that resembles a lot of Sony TVs. Most of the inputs are side-facing, but theyre close enough to the edge of the TV that they are accessible when its wall-mounted. A USB, Ethernet, and optical port are located in a recessed cutout that faces the back. Unfortunately, these arent accessible if you have the TV mounted flush to the wall. The TV has a built-insubwoofernear the top, and you can funnel cables through the TVs stand to help withcable management.
The Hisense U8N 75-inch has great build quality. Its mostly made of plastic, but its sturdy and well-built overall. The center-mounted stand provides good stability, and there are no glaring issues with the TVs design. Unfortunately, our unit did have somedirt behind the screen. Its not noticeable with most content, but it's a bit distracting in scenes that have large areas of uniform color.

Viewing Experience
The Hisense 75U8N delivers a solid performance overall, showcasing impressive HDR color gamut capabilities with great coverage of the DCI-P3 and Rec. 2020 color spaces, although some colors, particularly vibrant greens and blues, may appear undersaturated. Its contrast performance is enhanced through local dimming, resulting in deep blacks in darker environments, though the contrast ratio is not as strong as smaller models, leading to some visible blooming around bright objects. The TV excels in reflection handling, effectively minimizing distractions from both direct and indirect light sources. While the gray uniformity is decent, some issues like a dirty screen effect and vignetting are present. The viewing angle is adequate but suffers from noticeable degradation at extreme angles, which may limit its suitability for wider seating arrangements. Overall, the Hisense 75U8N offers a compelling viewing experience with notable strengths in color accuracy and reflection management, despite some limitations in contrast and uniformity.

Audio Experience
The Hisense U8N 75-inch TV delivers an overall satisfactory audio experience, characterized by clear dialogue and adequate loudness for typical viewing scenarios. Its built-in subwoofer adds a touch of bass, enhancing the sound quality, though it doesn't quite match the bass response of the smaller 65-inch model. While the TV performs well at moderate volume levels with minimal distortion, it does struggle with balance at maximum volume and exhibits some distortion, making it advisable to limit volume levels for optimal sound quality.

Motion Smoothing
The Hisense 75U8N presents a solid performance in smoothing low-quality content, effectively minimizing artifacts while maintaining detail. Its response time is commendable, particularly for fast-moving images, although it exhibits some inconsistencies with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) enabled, especially above 100Hz, leading to overshoot errors. While this behavior can be distracting, it is less pronounced compared to other models with VA panels. The use of pulse width modulation (PWM) for backlight dimming operates at a high frequency of 7800Hz, which should be less intrusive for sensitive viewers. However, the motion interpolation feature falls short, struggling with both slow and fast-moving scenes, resulting in noticeable artifacts and haloing. Overall, the TV offers a good viewing experience with specific strengths and weaknesses in motion handling and content processing.
