It's only a matter of a few weeks at most before Activision unveils the new episode of this year's Call of Duty series. The Call of Duty Cold War has long been one of the possible avenues, and is mentioned again today.
Call of Duty 2020 has been talked about for a year now as being a new episode of Black Ops. At the time, the name of Treyarch was already mentioned as the main developer on this new game and Kotaku sources were already talking about a campaign that would take place during the Cold War, as well as a Call of Duty in free to model play, which ultimately turned out to be Warzone. The sources were therefore very solid.
Differences between Call of Duty 2020 and Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War
Last March, an insider who had already given information in advance about Warzone claimed that this new Call of would be Black Ops 5 with a campaign during the Cold War and the Vietnam War as well as harsher scenes than in Modern Warfare, and based on actual facts. A zombie mode had also been mentioned.
This same insider, along with another, Okami who has proven in the past to be very knowledgeable, says that this new game would be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. A fictitious visual was even posted.
Activision remains silent about this new Call of Duty this year, but it may well be that Call of Duty Warzone is used to spice up the sauce.
