Politicians are responsible for the future of the country and the people, and politicians only value the immediate benefits. This movie and Gary Oldman's performance illustrate this point well. The plot design is full, and it does not only show Churchill's side of turning the tide. Gary Oldman also expresses the characters' irritability, arrogance, shaking, and hesitation through the body language such as face trembling and speech rate changes. Churchill talked to the public in the subway to renew his faith in the decisive battle and expressed his determination in the lower house of parliament. It was the climax of the film. Gary Oldman also expressed the psychological changes of Churchill very vividly through the performance, interpreting the politician because he respected the people Interests, and thus gain strength and faith in the people.
Darkest Hour (2017)
Recommended reason: to see the actor in the history of the most unlike Churchill, Churchill how to play well
Recommended crowd: costume designer, uncle control, performance teacher
Movie watching tips
1. John Hutt was originally scheduled to star in Chamberlain, but had to withdraw because of cancer. This film is the last project he intervened before his death.
2. Gary Oldman is the fifth [Harry Potter] actor who plays Churchill (and three of the first four are members of the Phoenix who graduated from Gryffindor).
3. This is the second Churchill biopic produced this year, and the other is [Churchill] starring Brian Cox.
Movie review
Only by writing heroes as ordinary people can ordinary people know why the heroes are fighting.
He must be so
Writing historical figures, combining rigidity with softness, is the most flattering angle.
It is a consensus that a hero of the world must be human.
Darkest Hour portrays a more humane Churchill.
Maybe it's fiction, maybe it's too cliché, but we are willing to believe it.
he time background of the film was chosen in the early May 1940 Chamberlain's resignation, to the completion of the Dunkirk retreat in early June. The historical facts are here, we already know the ending and understand that "darkest hour" is also his "finest hour". Since it is a inspirational story of counterattack, it will definitely show the tough side of Sakuni's goodwill.
But just writing about its strengths is nothing new. Writing weakly and strong is the key to shaping the characters in Darkest Hour .
Portraying Churchill's vulnerability and hesitation under the storm will make his toughness stronger: Only if you know why you fight, can you have the courage to overcome.
In Darkest Hour , the human light in the cracks of the war shines. Churchill got the answer he wanted:
hit! Death will not let them occupy our streets. He ordered: Dunkirk's retreat started.
In Parliament, he issued the bloody brave words that echoed throughout the world: "We will never surrender!"
Who can really believe that the Lions wake up because Churchill took the subway once?
But the film makes us willing to believe that this is the reason why people in peace are willing to pick up guns:
The death knell sounds for me, and I fight for you.
