When it comes to projectors, the conversation often revolves around size, resolution, and brightness. But what if I told you that the real game-changer isn’t just about how bright your images can get or how high the resolution is? Enter the BenQ MX764, a 4200 lumen XGA DLP projector that challenges conventional wisdom about what a projector should deliver.

While many users are fixated on 4K and ultra-high-definition displays, this model pushes back against that trend, focusing instead on practical features like LAN control and built-in audio power. With its wired and wireless LAN display options, it's not just about being a passive device; it’s about integrating seamlessly into your workflow, whether for business or education.

But is this projector a relic of the past, or does it offer value in today’s landscape? Today, I'll dive into its unique features, explore its performance in real-world settings, and question whether a lower resolution can still hold its own against the shiny new toys. Let’s take a closer look at the BenQ MX764 and see if it deserves a spot in your toolkit—or if it’s time to move on to something more modern.

I'm considering the BenQ MX764 projector and could really use some insights before I pull the trigger. I've read that it boasts a bright 4200 lumens, which sounds great for picture quality, but how does it actually perform in various lighting conditions? Is the XGA resolution sufficient for detailed presentations or movie nights?

Also, I'm curious about the sound quality. The built-in 20W audio power seems decent, but does it hold up, especially in larger rooms? How does it compare to using an external sound system?

The LAN control and wireless display features are appealing for convenience, but have you found any hiccups with connectivity or usability? Are there any downsides I should be aware of, like maintenance or potential compatibility issues with other devices?

I appreciate any advice or experiences you can share!

I really dig this projector! The keystone feature is awesome, super flexible for different setups. But honestly, it’s not as bright as you'd think based on the lumens. Plus, the lens shift is manual, which is a bit of a hassle. Good thing that keystone ability is on point!
