Research firm Omdia's latest data shows that Mini LED TV shipments will reach about 2 million units in 2021, while OLED TV shipments are expected to reach about 6.5 million units in the same period, more than three times the former.
Omdia has been raising its forecast for OLED TV shipments. In contrast, it originally expected Mini LED TV shipments to reach 1.8 million units in May, but later revised that estimate downward.
According to its latest forecast, of the 2 million Mini LED TVs expected to be shipped this year, including 1.5 million from Samsung and 300,000 from LG, the rest will be taken up by Chinese companies.
